Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 31, 2026

1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy applies to Hiejo ("Hiejo", "we", "us" or "our") in connection with the Hiejo website, recruitment activities, business enquiries, candidate communications and related services.

Hiejo acts as a data fiduciary for personal data for which it determines the purpose and means of processing. Where Hiejo processes data only on a client’s documented instructions, that client may have separate responsibilities and notices.

2. Personal Data We May Collect

Depending on how you use Hiejo, we may collect your name, mobile number, email address, location, professional experience, skills, preferred role, preferred location, employment history, resume/CV information, communications with us, and technical information reasonably necessary to operate, secure and improve the website.

Please do not submit passwords, payment-card credentials, government identity documents, health information or other sensitive information unless specifically requested for a lawful and stated purpose.

3. How We Collect Personal Data

We may receive personal data directly from you through website forms, email, phone, WhatsApp or other communications. We may also receive information from employers, recruitment partners, referees, service providers or lawful public professional sources where permitted by applicable law.

4. Purposes of Processing

We may process personal data to respond to enquiries; assess candidates for current or potential opportunities; identify relevant roles; communicate with candidates and businesses; coordinate interviews and recruitment activities; share relevant candidate information with prospective employers where appropriate and permitted; provide, maintain and improve our services; prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents; maintain records; comply with legal obligations; and establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

5. Notice, Consent and Lawful Processing

Where consent is required by applicable law, Hiejo will provide a clear notice describing the personal data and purpose of processing and will seek consent in an appropriate manner. Where another lawful basis or permitted use applies, processing may occur on that basis.

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was already lawfully carried out before withdrawal and may affect our ability to provide particular services or consider you for particular opportunities.

6. Recruitment and Candidate Data

If you provide a resume or candidate profile, Hiejo may use it to assess your suitability, identify relevant roles, communicate with you, coordinate recruitment activity and, where appropriate and lawful, share relevant information with a prospective employer.

A candidate submission does not guarantee an interview, selection, employment, compensation or placement. Employers make their own hiring decisions and may have their own privacy notices and legal obligations.

7. Sharing and Disclosure

We may disclose personal data to prospective or existing client employers, recruitment partners, professional advisers and service providers where reasonably necessary for the stated purpose or another lawful purpose.

We may also disclose information where required by law, court order, lawful governmental or regulatory request, or where necessary to protect Hiejo, our users, our service providers or others.

We do not sell personal data for money.

8. International Processing

Some technology and service providers used by Hiejo may process information outside India. Where personal data is transferred or made available outside India, Hiejo will do so subject to applicable law, contractual safeguards and applicable government restrictions.

9. Data Security

Hiejo uses reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature and risks of processing to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, loss, misuse and unlawful processing. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

10. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, recruitment and service delivery, legitimate business records, legal obligations, fraud prevention and the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. When no longer required, data will be deleted, anonymised or otherwise disposed of in accordance with applicable law and our retention practices.

11. Your Rights and Choices

Subject to applicable law, you may request information about processing of your personal data and request correction, updating or erasure where applicable. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent. You may also raise a grievance regarding the handling of your personal data.

Requests may be made to hello@hiejo.com. We may reasonably verify your identity before acting on a request and may retain limited information where required or permitted by law.

12. Children

Hiejo’s recruitment services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly solicit personal data from children for recruitment purposes. Where applicable law requires additional safeguards or verifiable consent for a child’s data, Hiejo will comply with those requirements.

13. WhatsApp, Email and Other Platforms

If you contact Hiejo through WhatsApp, email, telephone or another third-party platform, that platform may separately process your information under its own terms and privacy policy. Hiejo is responsible for its own processing and not for the independent practices of third-party platforms.

14. Third-Party Websites

Our website may contain links to third-party websites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, which you should review before providing information.

15. Grievance and Privacy Contact

Privacy requests and complaints should be sent to hello@hiejo.com. Hiejo will review and address grievances in accordance with applicable law and its grievance process.

Before publication: replace the business name, email, registered address and designated privacy/grievance contact with the exact legal details of the operating entity.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, processing practices, legal requirements or technology change. The latest version will be published here with a revised update date.
